barnabas today sermons live from your heart in a heartless world
But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn That shines brighter and brighter until the full day.
The way of the wicked is like darkness; They do not know over what they stumble.
My son, pay attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings.
They are not to escape from your sight; Keep them in the midst of your heart.
For they are life to those who find them, And healing to all their body.
Watch over your heart with all diligence, For from it flow the springs of life.
Proverbs 4:18-23

Proverbs 3:1 says: “My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring your prosperity”. God calls us to live a life of quality. An abundant life, a full life, a whole life is available for us in Jesus, a life of joy and exuberance.

Psalm 119:11 says: “I have hidden Your word in my heart that I might not sin against You”. Store God’s word in your heart. It directs your mind to obedience; listen to God’s word which leads to prosperity and length of days. Proverbs 3:1 (Message Bible) says: “Good friend, don’t forget all that I have taught you; take to heart my commands. They’ll help you live a long time; a long life lived full and well”.

We live in a world that is heartless; it only offers pleasures that are fleeting and momentary. It is important that we watch over our heart as it says in Proverbs 4:23, “Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life”. In all our ways we are called to acknowledge Him.

Through the day, we have the choice to be troubled, anxious and angry of the circumstances we face, or to listen to the voice of God and allow the Holy Spirit to direct us in the truth. Seek Him and allow His Word to direct your life.

Psalm 46:10 says, “Be still and know that I am God”. It is important for us to wait on God, and this can be done only when we are still. We need to unclutter our minds of the things of the world that clamor for space in our lives and fill our mind with His word.

By listening to the voice of God, we can experience a life of wellness, peace, grace and power which is available in Christ Jesus. Let the Holy Spirit lead you and you will have joy and peace.

Prayer: Forgive us Lord for living as if we own our lives. Help us to die to ourselves, listen to Your voice and in obedience to Your word, live life in the abundance of joy and peace that is ours in Christ Jesus. This we ask in Jesus name, Amen.
