Psalm 33 ‘He is faithful in all he does.’ (v4)

Today we conclude our time with Joseph. Over the course of the story, we have had the privilege of seeing the whole story, and therefore seeing how God is able to turn every situation from harm into one that will prosper us.

Even during his time in prison, God prospered Joseph, in that Joseph’s heart changed from that of a show-off to that of a man of humility and grace, ready for the job God had for him. God is able, even, to take someone else’s evil desires and make it turn out for good.

A whole nation has been preserved and Joseph’s own family have been provided for because Joseph was in the right place at the right time. Things that looked like an absolute disaster at the time, such as Joseph being stripped of his coat and sold, meant that all in all God’s good plan could come to fruition.

Hindsight is a marvellous thing and we, as the onlookers, can marvel at God’s working out for the good of everyone. The challenge is for us to trust God when we are facing our own difficulties and cannot see the end of the story.

At such a time we can use the story of Joseph to encourage ourselves, knowing that God is the same yesterday, today and forever.

A Prayer To Make:
‘Thank You, God, that Your plans are always good and, when I cannot see it, help me to trust You. Amen.’

An Action To Take:
Reflect on your story and see how God has turned things for good and, if not, understand that the story is not over yet.

Scripture To Consider:
Ps. 93 & 119:145–152; Heb. 13:5–8; 1 Tim. 6:6–12
