Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come…” (Matthew 6:9-10).

The kingdom of God was central to the mission of Jesus. He taught his disciples to earnestly pray for God’s Kingdom to come.

The Lord’s prayer acknowledges that the God is the King and gives us hope that God will ultimately establish his rule on this earth, despite all the ‘gloom and doom’ that surrounds us.

The Kingdom of God Is Revolutionary

The Kingdom of God is not about territory, military might, money power or authority. The kingdom of God is about God’s reign over our hearts, lives, and communities. Jesus said, the kingdom of God is within you” (Luke 17:21).

When God is the ‘king-in-residence’, our hearts abound with Love, Joy, and Peace. The invasion of the Kingdom of God, then, is a silent revolution that ushers in a life-changing experience through its transformative power.

The Kingdom of God Is Missional

The Kingdom of God invades the hearts and minds of people through a demonstration of its transformative power. We are called to defeat evil – the works of Satan – through the transformative power at work in our lives.

Jesus appeared to destroy the works of the devil (1John 3:8). The Kingdom of God will eventually destroy the Kingdom of Satan. St. Paul speaks hope: “The God of Peace will soon crush Satan under your feet” (Romans 16:20).

Every time we demonstrate the transformative power of the Kingdom through word and deed, even as we continually pray to God to usher His reign over all the world.

The Kingdom of God is on the Move

The Kingdom has been inaugurated in Jesus and is on the move over. The Kingdom extend itself as God’s people demonstrate its transformative power through word and deed.

With every repentant heart, the Kingdom of God extends its influence. Jesus will finally destroy every rule and every authority and power and deliver the kingdom to God the Father (1 Corinthians 15:24).

Every resistance to the Kingdom values must be surrendered to the reign of God. Jesus invites us to continually pray for the reign of God to come in all its fullness.

When we pray, “Your kingdom come,” we pray for the realization of the Kingdom of God in the hearts and minds of people.

The Kingdom of God is on the move. Christ will return and restore of all things (Rev 21:5). When we pray, “Let your Kingdom Come”, we are invited to see ‘what is not’ yet in faith.

God’s rule on earth is what every true believer ought to strive for. We must pray for his Kingdom to come and fill our “life-spaces”, our communities and our world.

The prayer “Let your kingdom come” can become a force that unleashes God’s glorious blessing. Let us pray that the reign of God will extend to earth, that His will be done – in hearts, lives, and the world around us – just as it is in Heaven – where he is enthroned in splendor and rules in majesty!

Even a silent one-line prayer “Let your Kingdom come” can literally change the world. Come, join the Silent Revolution.
