‘It teaches us to say ”No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age’ (v12) Titus 2:11–15
Each of us is chosen by God and appointed as His ambassador. It is a responsibility that we are equipped for by God’s Holy Spirit. Although daunting, like Joshua and Jericho, we are invited to see the opportunity despite the challenge (Num. 13:27–30).
Every ambassador continually learns on the job. Their responsibility is to represent their country well and appropriately in a foreign land. We are citizens of heaven and are invited to represent God’s promises to those we serve, for we have no citizenship rights where we serve (Heb. 13:14).
We might view our church as our embassy, filled with those like us seeking to represent God’s kingdom. And we may feel homesick on occasion, yearning simply to be with the Lord. However, our task is always before us, making known the goodness of God in the land of the living (Psa. 27:13). It is a wonderful commission direct from God.
As we begin a fresh adventure exploring the height and depth of God’s love, for which we are eternally grateful, let’s faithfully pursue our responsibility to continue faithfully as God’s ambassadors. We pray and work so that ‘the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea’ (Hab. 2:14).

A PRAYER TO MAKE: ‘Lord, thank You that You have appointed me as Your ambassador and continue to equip me for this responsibility of serving You in every sphere of my life. Amen.’
