‘For in him you have been enriched in every way – with all kinds of speech and with all knowledge – God thus confirming our testimony about Christ among you. Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed.’ (vv5–7) 1 Corinthians 1:4–9

I am grateful we live in an age in which we have at our fingertips a vast resource of Christian wisdom. Where once I had a large library of books, I have been pleased to pass on the majority for the benefit of others because I now enjoy access to the internet. It is something we can give thanks to God for. We can never say that we are without the tools we need to nurture and grow our faith

People can engage with these at a time and at a pace that suits them best. In the UK, we are in a privileged position of enjoying so much Christian content, yet we are challenged by the apparent decline of the Christian population. Our great challenge is to avoid simply putting on spiritual weight, whilst failing to share the treasure trove so easily available and accessible to everyone hungering for truth. We never know where people will find the wisdom and insight they are seeking.

The purpose of our Christian faith is not to accumulate greater knowledge of Jesus for our own sake but to share God’s love and kindness with everyone we meet. So, let’s give thanks for the living Word of God who expresses Himself through our lives as we interact with others every day.
